Rep. Julie Fisher called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m.

MOTION:    Rep. Morley moved to approve the minutes of February 2, 2010. The              motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Cosgrove, Rep. Janice Fisher,
        Rep. Mascaro, and Rep. Seegmiller absent for the vote.


H.B. 238    Low Speed Vehicle Amendments (Rep. J. Anderson)

Rep. Anderson introduced the bill to the committee.

Spoke to the bill:    Chip Dawson, South Jordan City

MOTION:    Rep. Anderson moved to amend the bill as follows:


1.    Page 1, Line 27 through Page 2, Line 34 :    

             27          (1) Except as otherwise provided in this section, a low-speed vehicle is considered a
             28      motor vehicle for purposes of the Utah Code including requirements for:

             29          (a) traffic rules under Title 41, Chapter 6a, Traffic Code;
             30          (b) driver licensing under Title 53, Chapter 3, Uniform Driver License Act;
             31          (c) motor vehicle insurance under Title 41, Chapter 12a, Financial Responsibility of
             32      Motor Vehicle Owners and Operators Act;
             33          (d) vehicle registration, titling,
{   odometer statements,   } vehicle identification numbers,

             34      license plates, and registration fees under Title 41, Chapter 1a, Motor Vehicle Act;
        
The motion to amend passed unanimously, with Rep. Cosgrove, Rep. Mascaro, and Rep. Seegmiller absent for the vote.

MOTION:    Rep. Daw moved to pass the bill out favorably as amended.

The motion passed unanimously.

MOTION:    Rep. Daw moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously.

Vice Chair Julie Fisher adjourned the meeting at 9:52 a.m.
