Rep. Julie Fisher called the meeting to order at 8:49 a.m.

MOTION:    Rep. Wallis moved to approve the minutes of February 4, 2010. The motion         passed unanimously, with Rep. Mascaro and Rep. Morley absent for the vote.

S.B. 17    Uniform Commercial Driver License Act Amendments (Sen. K. Van Tassell) (Rep. Julie Fisher)

Sen. Van Tassell introduced the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Daw moved to pass the bill out favorably.

The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Mascaro and Rep. Morley absent for the vote.

H.B. 261    Financial Responsibility of Motor Vehicle Owners and Operators Act Amendments (Rep. R. Greenwood)

Rep. Greenwood introduced the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Cosgrove moved to amend the bill as follows:


1.    Page 1, Line 20 :    

             20      immediate possession
{   .   }        ; and

    . increases the number of months that a motor vehicle must show as not insured in the Uninsured Motorist Identification Database before the designated agent provides certain notices to the owner of the motor vehicle.       


2.    Page 5, Lines 132 through 134 :    

             132          (1) If the comparison under Section 41-12a-803 shows that a motor vehicle is not
             133      insured for
{   two   }        three       consecutive months, the Motor Vehicle Division shall direct that the designated

             134      agent provide notice to the owner of the motor vehicle that the owner has 15 days to provide:

The motion to amend passed unanimously, with Rep. Morley absent for the vote.

MOTION:    Rep. Cosgrove moved to pass the bill out favorably as amended.

The motion passed unanimously.

MOTION:    Rep. Hemingway moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed              unanimously.
