Sen. Christensen called the meeting to order at 8:11 a.m.
1. SCR008 Fathers Do Matter Concurrent Resolution (G. Davis)
Sen. Davis introduced the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Jones moved to delete in title and body S.C.R. 8 and substitute in lieu thereof First Substitute S.C.R. 8, Fathers Do Matter Concurrent Resolution.
The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Adams and Sen. Robles absent for the vote.

2. SB0163 Health Regulation of Geothermal Pools and Baths (M. Madsen)
Sen. Madsen introduced the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Jones moved to amend S.B. 163 as follows:

(d) (i) The department or a local health department may conduct a bacterial test
of a quasi-public geothermal pool or bath if the test is requested by a person who,
within 15 days before the day on which the request is made:
(A) was present in the pool or bath;
(B) became sick after being present in the pool or bath; and
(C) has reason to believe that the sickness described in Subsection (2)(d)(i)(B) was contracted from the pool or bath.
(ii) If a test performed under Subsection (2)(d)(i) reveals that the quasi-public geothermal pool or bath poses a health risk, the department or local health department:
(A) shall work with the owners of the pool or bath to assist the owners to restore the
pool or bath to a safe condition; and
(B) may not shut down the pool or bath or take action against an owner of the pool
or bath.

MOTION: Sen. Adams moved to pass S.B. 213 with a favorable recommendation.

MOTION: Sen. Robles moved to recommend that S.B. 213 be placed on the consent calender.
