Sen. Dayton called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.
1. Welcome
MOTION: Sen. Okerlund moved to approve the minutes from the January 26, 2010 committee meeting.
The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Davis absent from the vote.
2. S.B. 20 Local District Amendments (Sen. Dennis E. Stowell)
Sen. Stowell introduced the bill. Sen. Stowell explained Amendment #1.
MOTION: Sen. Stowell moved to adopt Amendment #1.
The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Christensen and Sen. Davis absent from the vote.
R. Scott Wilson, General Manager for Central Iron County Water District, spoke in opposition to the bill.
Legrand W. Bitter, Executive Director for UASD, spoke in favor of the bill.
Kent Jones, State Engineer, spoke in favor of the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Okerlund moved to pass S.B. 20 out of committee with a favorable recommendation.
The motion passed with Sen. Morgan voting no.
3. H.B. 31 Wildlife Licenses, Certificates, or Permit Amendments (K. Gibson)
Rep. Gibson introduced the bill. Robin Thomas, Division of Wildlife Resources, assisted in the presentation.
MOTION: Sen. Christensen moved to pass H.B. 31 out of committee with a favorable recommendation.
The motion passed unanimously.
MOTION: Sen. Davis moved to place H.B. 31 on consent.
The motion passed unanimously.
MOTION: Sen. Morgan moved to adjourn.
The motion passed unanimously.
