21 LONG TITLE
22 General Description:
23 This bill enacts Title 67, Chapter 25, Part 2, Work Week, to provide for a five-day work
24 week for a state agency in the executive branch.
25 Highlighted Provisions:
26 This bill:
27 . requires a state agency in the executive branch to operate nine hours on a Monday,
28 Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday; and
29 . makes technical changes.

32 Other Special Clauses:
33 This bill takes effect on September 17, 2011.

40 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
41 Section 11. Section 67-25-101 is enacted to read:

45 67-25-101. Title.
46 This chapter is known as "General Requirements for State Officers and Employees."
47 Section 22. Section 67-25-102 is enacted to read:
48 67-25-102. Definitions.
49 As used in this chapter, "state agency" means a department, division, board, council,
50 committee, institution, office, bureau, or other similar administrative unit of the executive
51 branch of state government.
52 Section 33. Section 67-25-201 is enacted to read:

54 67-25-201. State agency work week.
55 (1) Except for a legal holiday established under Section 63G-1-301 , a state agency shall
56 operate at least one physical location, and as many physical locations necessary, at least nine
57 hours a day on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday to provide a service
58 required by statute to another entity of the state, a political subdivision, or the public.
59 (2) This section does not limit the days or hours a state agency may operate.
60 (3) To provide a service as required by Subsection (1), the chief administrative officer
61 of a state agency may determine:
62 (a) the number of physical locations operating each day;
63 (b) the daily hours of operation, as required by Subsection (1), of each physical
64 location;
65 (c) the number of state agency employees who work per day; and
66 (d) the hours a state agency employee works per day.
67 Section 44. Effective date.
68 This bill takes effect on September 17, 2011.
