9 General Description:
10 This joint resolution of the Legislature approves the corridor management plan for a
11 proposed scenic byway in the state of Utah.
12 Highlighted Provisions:
13 This resolution:
14 . approves the corridor management plan for a proposed scenic byway beginning at
15 the intersection of State Route 9 and State Route 17 in Laverkin and running along
16 State Route 9 eastward to the west boundary of Zion National Park in Springdale
17 and following the Zion-Mt. Carmel Highway through Zion National Park to the east
18 boundary.

22 Be it resolved by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
23 WHEREAS, Utah Code Section 72-4-301.5 states that "a highway or state scenic
24 byway may not be nominated for designation as a National Scenic Byway or All-American
25 Road unless the corridor management plan that will be submitted with the application for the
26 highway or state scenic byway to be nominated for designation as a National Scenic Byway or
27 All-American Road is approved by the Legislature":
28 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of the state of Utah
29 approves the corridor management plan for a proposed scenic byway beginning at the
30 intersection of State Route 9 and State Route 17 in Laverkin and running along State Route 9
31 eastward to the west boundary of Zion National Park in Springdale and following the Zion-Mt.
32 Carmel Highway through Zion National Park to the east boundary.
33 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be sent to the Utah
34 Department of Transportation, the Governor's Office of Economic Development, and the Utah
35 State Scenic Byway Committee.
