Rep. Edwards called the meeting to order at 8:39 a.m.

H.B. 236    Abandoned Roads (Rep. R. C. Webb)

This bill was not considered.

H.B. 197    Amendments to Municipal and County Powers (Rep. J. Anderson)

MOTION:     Rep. Anderson moved to table H.B. 197.

The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Dunnigan, Rep. Morley, Rep. Sandstrom and Rep. Webb absent for the vote.

S.B. 95    Shareholder Action Without Meeting (Sen. B. McAdams) (Rep. D. Brown)

Sen. McAdams introduced the bill to the committee.

Spoke in favor of the bill:    Sam Gardner, Citizen


MOTION:    Rep. Wiley to pass S.B. 95 favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Dunnigan, Rep. Morley, Rep. Pitcher, Rep. Sandstrom, and Rep. Webb absent for the vote.

S.B. 14    Local Election Amendments (Sen. P. Knudson) (Rep. D. Sagers)


Sen. Knudson introduced the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Wiley moved to amend the bill as follows:

1.    Page 22, Lines 669 through 673 :    

             669          (1) (a) Each person wishing to become a valid write-in candidate shall file a declaration
             670      of candidacy in person or through a designated agent for a candidate for President or Vice
             671      President of the United States with the appropriate filing officer not later than 30 days before
             672      the regular general election or
  45 days before a       municipal general election in which the person intends to be a

             673      write-in candidate.

The motion to amend the bill passed unanimously with Rep. Dunnigan, Rep. Morley, Rep. Sandstrom, and Rep. Webb absent for the vote.

MOTION:    Rep. Draxler moved to pass out S.B. 14, as amended, with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Dunnigan, Rep. Morley, Rep. Sandstrom, Rep. Seelig, and Rep. Webb absent for the vote.

MOTION:    Rep. Peterson moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Dunnigan, Rep. Morley, Rep. Sandstrom, Rep. Seelig, and Rep. Webb absent for the vote.

Rep. Edwards adjourned the meeting at 9:00 a.m.
