Sen. Buttars called the meeting to order at 4:07 p.m.

Approval of Minutes

     MOTION: Sen. Reid moved to approve the minutes of February 14, 2011

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Jones and Sen. Robles absent for the vote.

1.     HB0240 - Social Services - Employment First Priority (R. Menlove)

    
Rep. Menlove presented the bill.

    
Ms. Silver spoke to the bill.


    Ms. Fawson spoke to the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Reid moved to pass H.B. 240 out of committee with a favorable recommendation.

    
The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Jones and Sen. Robles absent for the vote.

2.     HB0013S02 - Immunizations for Teen Mothers (J. Seelig)
    
    Rep. Seelig introduced the bill.

    Mr. Edwards, Dr. Buchi, Ms. Ruzicka, Ms. Zentner, and Ms. Hilton spoke in favor of the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Christensen moved to pass Second Substitute H.B. 13 out of committee with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Jones and Sen. Robles absent for the vote.

3.     HB0066S01 - Health Professional Authority - Death Certificates (B. Last)

    Rep. Last introduced the bill.

    MOTION: Sen. Christensen moved to pass First Substitute H.B. 66 out of committee with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Robles absent for the vote.

4.     HB0204 - Protection of Athletes with Head Injuries (P. Ray)

    Rep. Ray introduced the bill.

    MOTION: Sen. Jones moved to amend the bill as follows:

  (a)       "Sporting event" means any of the following athletic activities that is organized,

             67      operated, managed, or sponsored by any organization:

{   (c)   }        (iii)       a sports camp;

{   (d)   }        (iv)       a physical education class;

  (b) "Sporting event" does not include the issuance of a ski pass by a ski resort, unless the skiing is part of a camp, team, class, or competition that is organized, managed, or sponsored by the ski resort.

Sen. Christensen moved to pass H.B. 204, as amended, out of committee with a favorable recommendation.
