Sen. Buttars called the meeting to order at 8:10 a.m.

Approval of Minutes

     MOTION: Sen. Christensen moved to approve the minutes of February 18 and February 23, 2011.

    The motion passed unanimously.

1.     HCR005 - Patient and Safety-centered Prescription Labels Concurrent Resolution (M. Poulson)

    Rep. Poulson introduced the bill.


    Ms. Polacheck, Mr. Hill, and Ms. Dolcourt spoke in favor of the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Jones moved to pass H.C.R. 5 out of committee with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously.

     MOTION: Sen. Jones moved to place H.C.R. 5 on the Consent Calendar.

    The motion passed unanimously.

2.     H.J.R. 35 - Utah Mitochondrial Disease Awareness Week Joint Resolution (K. Sumsion)

    Rep. Sumsion introduced the bill.

    Ms. Nuccitelli spoke in favor of the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Jones moved to pass H.J.R. 35 out of committee with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously.

     MOTION: Sen. Jones moved to place H.J.R. 35 on the Consent Calendar.

    The motion passed unanimously.

3.     HB0174S01 - Contracting for Medicaid Eligibility Determination Services (W. Harper)

Sen. Christensen moved to pass First Substitute H.B. 174 out of committee with a favorable recommendation.

    Rep. Dunnigan introduced the bill.

    Mr. Checketts, Mr. Nehring, and Mr. Allen spoke in favor of the bill.
