Committee Chair Madsen called the meeting to order at 4:10 p.m.     
1.     SJR10 - Joint Resolution Closing Orem Court Facility (J. Valentine)

    
Sen. Valentine presented the bill.

    MOTION:
Sen. Hillyard made a motion to send S.J.R. 10 forward with a favorable recommendation.
    
    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. McAdams absent for the vote.

     MOTION: Sen. Hillyard made a motion to place the bill on the Consent Calendar.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. McAdams absent for the vote.

2.     SB143 - Judiciary Amendments (L. Hillyard)



    
Sen. Hillyard presented the bill.

    Mr. Schwermer spoke to the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Hillyard made a motion to pass S.B. 143 with a favorable recommendation.
    
    The motion passed unanimously.

3.     SB96 - Alimony Amendments (L. Hillyard)

    
Sen. Hillyard presented the bill.

    Mr. Ralphs, Ms. Grant, Mr. Rasmussen, Ms. Skowronski, Ms. deGaston, Ms. Rowley, Ms. Dahl, Ms. Noyes, and Ms. Newman spoke to the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Hillyard made a motion to delete in title and body S.B. 96 and replace it with 1st Substitute S.B. 96.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. McAdams and Sen. Romero absent for the vote.

    MOTION:
Sen. Hillyard made a motion to move to the next bill on the agenda.    

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. McAdams and Sen. Romero absent for the vote.

4.     HB56 - Expungement Amendments (Julie Fisher)

    Rep. Fisher presented the bill.

    Ms. Taylor and Ms. deGaston spoke to the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. McAdams moved to pass H.B. 56 with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Hillyard and Sen. Romero absent for the vote.

5.     HB192 - Controlled Substances Advisory Committee Amendments (P. Ray)    

    Rep. Ray presented the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Waddoups moved to pass H.B. 192 with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Hillyard and Sen. Romero absent for the vote.



     MOTION: Sen. Waddoups moved to adjourn.

    The meeting adjourned at 5:54 p.m.
