Committee Chair Madsen called the meeting to order at 4:12 p.m.     
1.     HB0257S01 - Concealed Firearm Act Modifications (R. Menlove)

    Rep. Menlove presented the bill.

     MOTION:    Sen. Romero moved to amend the bill as follows:

1.    Page 7, Lines 199 through 200 :    

             199          (c) If the fingerprints are insufficient for the
{   bureau of   } Federal Bureau of Investigation

             200      to conduct a search of its files for criminal history information, the application or concealed
    
    The motion passed unanimously.

     MOTION:    Sen. Hillyard moved to pass 1st Substitute H.B. 257 as amended with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously.

     MOTION:    Sen. McAdams made a motion to place 1st Substitute H.B. 257 on the Consent Calendar.



    The motion passed unanimously.

2.     SB0199 - Utah Commission on Uniform State Laws (L. Hillyard)
    
    Sen. Hillyard presented the bill.

     MOTION:    Sen. Hillyard moved to pass S.B. 199 with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously.

3.     SB0200- State Debt Collections Amendments (L. Hillyard)    

    Sen. Hillyard presented the bill.

    Mr. Jetter spoke to the bill.

    Mr. Reidhead spoke in favor of the bill.

     MOTION:    Sen. Hillyard moved to amend S.B. 200 as follows:

1.    Page 5, Lines 146 through 150 :    

             146          Section 6. Section 63A-3-303 is amended to read:
             147          63A-3-303. Notice to debtor -- Contents.
             148          (1) Upon default in payment of any account receivable that is not due pursuant to final
  court or      

             149      administrative order or judgment, the entity responsible for collecting the account shall send a
             150      notice by
{   certified   } mail to the debtor at the debtor's last-known address.

    

     MOTION:    Sen. Hillyard moved to pass S.B. 200 as amended with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously.

4.     SB0212 - Judicial Evaluation Amendments (D.C. Buttars)

    The bill was not considered.

    Sen. Hillyard moved to adjourn.
