    Sen. McAdams assumed the chair and called the meeting to order at 8:13 a.m.

1.     SB0318 - Justice Court Modifications (D.C. Buttars)

    
Sen. Buttars presented the bill.

    Colin Winchester spoke in favor of the bill.

    Mr. Trupp, Mr. Tew, and Mr. Schwermer spoke in opposition to the bill.



     MOTION:    Sen. Urquhart moved to pass S.B. 318 with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion failed 2-2-2, with Sen. McAdams and Sen. Romero voting in opposition to the bill.

2.     SB0225 - Personal Injury Protection Arbitration (S. Urquhart)
    
    Sen. Urquhart presented the bill.

    Mr. Copeland spoke in favor of the bill.

    Mr. Bursan spoke in opposition to the bill.

     MOTION:    Sen. Urquhart moved to pass S.B. 225 with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed 3-1-2 with Sen. Romero voting in opposition to the bill.

    MOTION:
    Sen. McAdams moved to reconsider S.B. 318.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Romero absent for the vote.

     MOTION:    Sen. McAdams moved to pass S.B. 318 with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Romero absent for the vote.

3.     SB154 - Utah Fit Premises Act Modifications (B. McAdams)

    Sen. McAdams presented the bill.

    Ms. Martinez, Ms. Gablonk and Ms. Rollins spoke in favor of the bill.

    Ms. Nelson and Mr. Smith spoke in opposition to the bill.

     MOTION:    Sen. Romeo moved to pass S.B. 154 with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion failed with Sen. Madsen and Sen. Urquhart voting in opposition to the bill.

4.     SJR024 - Joint Resolution Supporting Expansion of Correctional Facilities in San Juan County (D. Hinkins)

    Sen. Hinkins presented the bill.

    Mr. Dmitrich spoke in favor of the bill.


    MOTION:
    Sen. Romero moved to pass S.J.R. 24 with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously.

     MOTION:    Sen. McAdams moved to place S.J.R. 24 on the Consent Calendar.

    The motion passed unanimously.

    Sen. Urquhart assumed the chair.

5.     HCR001 - Concurrent Resolution Urging Congress to Address Employment Related Child Identity Theft (S. Duckworth)

    Sen. Madsen presented the bill.

    Mr. Hamp spoke in favor of the bill.

     MOTION:    Sen. Madsen moved to pass H.C.R. 1 with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously.

     MOTION:    Sen. Madsen moved to place H.C.R. 1 on the Consent Calendar.

    The motion passed unanimously.

    Sen. Madsen resumed the chair.

6.     HB0334 - Family Expense Amendments (S. Sandstrom)

    Rep. Sandstrom presented the bill.

    Ms. Daly spoke in favor of the bill.

     MOTION:    Sen. Urquhart moved to pass H.B. 334 with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously.

7.     HB0161 - Guardian Ad Litem Responsibilities (C. Oda)

    Rep. Oda presented the bill.

     MOTION:    Sen. Urquhart moved to pass H.B. 161 with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously.



8.     HB0048S03 - Fingerprints of Juveniles (J. Peterson)

    This bill was not considered.
    

     MOTION: Sen. McAdams moved to adjourn.
