Committee Chair Okerlund called the meeting to order at 2:25 p.m.
1. Chair Okerlund informed those present that, S.B. 108 Joint Use of Water Infrastructure
(Sen. D. Stowell) would not be heard today.
Chair Okerlund had each member of the committee introduce themselves.
Senator Dayton assumed the committee chair.
2. S.B. 25 Share Certificates in Water Companies (Sen. R. Okerlund)
Sen. Ralph Okerlund introduced the bill. Mike Styler, Director, Department of Natural Resources, assisted in the presentation.
Steve Clyde, Attorney, Central Utah Water District and Fred W. Finlinson, Attorney, Utah Water Coalition, spoke in support of the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Okerlund moved to pass S.B. 25, Share Certificates in Water Companies, out favorably.
The motion passed unanimously.
3. S.B. 32 Agriculture Amendments (Sen. R. Okerlund)
Sen. Ralph Okerlund introduced the bill. Kyle Stephens, Deputy Commissioner, Utah Department of Agriculture and Food, assisted in the presentation.
Dave Eldeson, President, Utah Cattlemen's Association and Brent Tanner, Executive Director, Utah Cattleman's Association spoke for the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Okerlund moved to pass S.B. 32, Agriculture Amendments out favorably.
The motion passed unanimously.
4. S.B. 102 Temporary Water Shortage Emergency - Military Facilities (Sen. R. Okerlund)
Sen. Ralph Okerlund introduced the bill
MOTION: Sen. Okerlund moved to pass S.B. 102, Temporary Water Shortage Emergency- Military Facilities out favorably.
The motion passed unanimously.
MOTION: Sen. Okerlund moved to adjourn.
The motion passed unanimously.
Sen. Dayton adjourned the meeting at 3:07 p.m.
