MINUTES OF THE SENATE WORKFORCE SERVICES & COMMUNITY AND
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STANDING COMMITTEE
TUESDAY, JANUARY 25, 2011, 4:00 P.M.

Public Speakers Present: Spencer P. Eccles, Executive Director for the Governor's Office of          Economic Development
            Shawn Warnke, City Manager for the City of Tremonton
            Lincoln Shurtz, Staff for the Utah League of Cities and Towns

A list of visitors and a copy of handouts are filed with the committee minutes.

Chair Reid called the meeting to order at 4:06 p.m.

1.     S.B. 31 - Rural Fast Track Program Amendments

    Sen. Okerlund presented and explained the bill.

    Mr. Eccles spoke for the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Okerlund moved to pass S.B 31 out of committee with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously.

    With the approval of the sponsor of the bill and without objection, the bill was recommended
    for placement on the Consent Calender.

2.     S.B. 37 - Emergency Food Agency Amendments

    Sen. Peter Knudson presented and explained the bill.


    Mr. Warnke and Mr. Shurtz spoke for the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Jones moved to pass S.B. 37 out of committee with a favorable     recommendation.
    
    
With the approval of the sponsor of the bill and without objection, the bill was recommended
    for placement on the Consent Calender.     
    
    MOTION:
Sen. Jones moved to adjourn meeting.

    The motion passed unanimously.

    Chair Reid adjourned the meeting at 4:35 p.m.
