Chair Reid called the meeting to order at 6:55 p.m.
1. S.B. 293 Military Installation Development Authority and Annexation Amendments (J. Stevenson)
Sen. Stevenson explained the bill with the assistance of Paul Morris, General Counsel for MIDA, both of whom answered questions from the committee.
MOTION: Sen. Jones moved to transmit S.B. 293 with a favorable recommendation.
The motion passed unanimously.
2. H.B. 0094 Income Tax Credit for Combat Related Death (M. Newbold)
Rep. Newbold explained the bill and answered questions from the committee.
MOTION: Sen. Okerlund moved to transmit H.B. 94 with a favorable recommendation.
The motion passed unanimously.
3. H. B. 155 Cycling Laws (C. Moss)
Rep. Moss explained the bill and answered questions from the committee.
Allen Sanderson, citizen spoke against the bill.
John Weis, citizen, Mr. O'Leary, citizen and Becka Roolf, Salt Lake City Corp. spoke in favor of the bill.
MOTION: Sen Jones moved to amend H.B. 155 as follows:
Page 1, line 20: Delete "highway" and insert "roadway"
Page 1, line 70: Delete "highway" and insert "roadway"
The motion passed unanimously.
MOTION: Sen. Jones moved to transmit H.B. 155 as amended with a favorable recommendation.
The motion passed with Sens. Jones, Morgan, Reid, and Okerlund voting in favor of the bill and Sens. Waddoups and Stevenson voting against the bill.
4. H.B. 156 S01 Assessment of Property with Conservation Easement (D. Pitcher)
Rep. Pitcher explained the bill with the assistance of Mr. Lee Gardner, Salt Lake County Assessor.
MOTION: Sen. Okerlund moved to transmit 1st Subst. H.B. 156 with a favorable recommendation.
The motion passed unanimously.
MOTION: Sen. Okerlund moved to adjourn.
