11 General Description:
12 This bill creates the Air Quality Task Force.
13 Highlighted Provisions:

25 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
26 Section 1. Air Quality -- Creation -- Membership -- Interim rules followed --

27 Compensation -- Staff.
28 (1) There is created the Air Quality Task Force consisting of the following 13
29 members:
30 (a) five members of the Senate appointed by the president of the Senate, no more than
31 four of whom may be from the same political party; and
32 (b) eight members of the House of Representatives appointed by the speaker of the
33 House of Representatives, no more than six of whom may be from the same political party.
34 (2) (a) The president of the Senate shall designate a member of the Senate appointed
35 under Subsection (1)(a) as a cochair of the task force.
36 (b) The speaker of the House of Representatives shall designate a member of the House
37 of Representatives appointed under Subsection (1)(b) as a cochair of the task force.
38 (3) In conducting its business, the task force shall comply with the rules of legislative
39 interim committees.
40 (4) Salaries and expenses of the members of the task force shall be paid in accordance
41 with Section 36-2-2 and Legislative Joint Rules, Title 5, Chapter 3, Expense and Mileage
42 Reimbursement for Authorized Legislative Meetings, Special Sessions, and Veto Override
43 Sessions.
44 (5) The Office of Legislative Research and General Counsel shall provide staff support
45 to the task force.
46 Section 2. Duties -- Interim report.
47 The task force shall:
48 (1) review public and private sector efforts to improve air quality in Utah;
49 (2) review and suggest changes to state laws and regulations that could improve air
50 quality in Utah; and
51 (3) before November 30, 2012, report to the:
52 (a) Natural Resources, Agriculture, and Environment Interim Committee;
53 (b) Workforce Services and Community and Economic Development Interim
54 Committee; and
55 (c) Health and Human Services Interim Committee.
56 Section 3. Repeal date.
57 This bill is repealed November 30, 2012.
