Chair Powell called the meeting to order at 2:18 p.m.

MOTION:    Rep. Frank moved to approve the minutes of the February 1, 2012 meeting. The motion passed unanimously.


S.B. 16    Ballot Proposition Amendments (Sen. S. Jenkins)

Sen. Jenkins introduced the bill.

MOTION:    Rep. Galvez moved to amend the bill as follows:

1.    Page 1, Lines 17 through 18 :    

             17          
{   .    repeals a provision restricting an initiative or referendum related to a land use

             18      ordinance;   }

2.    Page 2, Line 32 :    

             32          
{   20A-7-401, as last amended by Laws of Utah 2008, Chapter 24   }


3.    Page 14, Line 427 through Page 15, Line 433 :     Delete lines 427 through 433.

    Renumber remaining sections accordingly.



The motion to amend the bill passed unanimously.

MOTION:    Rep. Perry moved to pass the amended bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.

MOTION:    Rep. Galvez moved to place the bill on the Consent Calendar. After further discussion, the motion was withdrawn.


H.B. 296    Social Services - Employment First Priority (Rep. V. L. Snow)

Rep. Snow introduced the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Perry moved to amend the bill as follows:

MOTION:    Rep. Galvez moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.

MOTION:    Rep. Chavez-Houck moved to place H.B. 233 on the Consent Calendar. After committee discussion, the motion was withdrawn.

MOTION:    Rep. Chavez-Houck moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously.
