Chair Powell called the meeting to order at 8:11 a.m.

MOTION:    Rep. Galvez moved to approve the minutes of the February 2, 2012 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Oda and Rep. Vickers absent for the vote.

H.B. 19S1    State Issued Identification Numbers (Rep. W. Harper)

Rep. Harper introduced 1st Substitute H.B. 19.

Spoke in favor of the bill:    Ronald Mortensen, citizen

MOTION:    Rep. Perry moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Oda and Rep. Vickers absent for the vote.

MOTION:    Rep. Perry moved to place 1st Substitute H.B. 19 on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Oda and Rep. Vickers absent for the vote.


H.B. 111    Amendments to Open and Public Meetings Act (Rep. C. Frank)

MOTION:    Rep. Frank moved to amend the bill as follows:

1.    Page 3, Lines 73 through 75 :    

             73          (ii) two or more persons belonging to a body described in Subsection (8)(a)(i) who are




             74      assigned
  in a meeting       by the body or a presiding officer of the body to discuss an issue about which the body

             75      has authority to make a decision or take action.

The motion to amend the bill passed unanimously with Rep. Vickers absent for the vote.

Rep. Frank introduced the bill and provided a handout to committee members and the public.
