Rep. Hutchings, acting as chair, called the meeting to order at 4:10 p.m.

H.B. 433    Expanded Uses of School District Property Tax Revenue (Rep. K. McIff)

Rep. McIff presented the bill to the committee.

Spoke in opposition
to the bill:        Mr. Peter Cannon, Davis County School Board
            Mr. Ron Mortensen, Citizens for tax fairness

MOTION:    Rep. Snow moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed with Rep. Herrod and Rep. Wilson voting in opposition. Rep. King and Rep. Christensen were absent for the vote.

H.J.R. 16    Joint Resolution - Judicial Service Commendation (Rep. K. McIff)

Rep. McIff presented the resolution to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Wilson moved to pass the resolution out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. King absent for the vote.



Chair McIff resumed the chair.

S.B. 0055S01    Amendments to Adoption Code
(Sen. T. Weiler)

Sen. Weiler presented the bill to the committee with the assistance of Mr. Lance Rich, Utah Adoption Council.

MOTION:    Rep. Hutchings moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Cox absent for the vote.

Rep. Last presented the bill to the committee with the assistance of Mr. Greg Curtis, representing Anderson Development Co.

MOTION:    Rep. Wilson moved to amend the bill as follows:

The motion passed with Rep. Cox absent for the vote.
