Chair Bird called the meeting to order at 4:01 p.m.

MOTION:     Rep. Grover moved to approve the minutes of the February 2, 2012 meeting. The motion passed unanimously. Rep. Litvack, Rep. Menlove, and Rep. Sanpei were absent for the vote.

S.B. 131    Reauthorization of Utah Commission on Aging (Sen. P. Jones) (Rep. P. Arent)

Sen. Jones introduced the bill, assisted by Maureen Henry, Executive Director, Utah Commission on Aging.

Chair Bird disclosed to the committee that he sits on the Utah Commission on Aging at the request of the Speaker.

MOTION:    Rep. Litvack moved to pass the bill out with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed unanimously. Rep. Menlove was absent for the vote.

S.B. 135    Sunset Reauthorization-human Services (Sen. A. Christensen) (Rep. B. Last)

Sen. Jones introduced the bill on behalf of Sen. Allen Christensen.

Ms. Jackie de Gaston, citizen, spoke to the bill.
Ms. Joyce Dolcourt, Legislative Coalition for People with Disabilities, spoke in support of the bill.

MOTION:    Rep. Grover moved to pass the bill out with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed unanimously.

MOTION:    Rep. Grover moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed. Chair Bird adjourned the meeting at 4:20 p.m.
