Chair Valentine called the meeting to order at 8:09 a.m.

Approval of Minutes

MOTION:    
Sen. Van Tassell moved to approve minutes of the February 22, 2012, meeting.     The motion passed unanimously with Sens. Bramble, Urquhart absent for the vote.

H.B. 108    Internet Gambling (Rep. S. Sandstrom)

Rep. Sandstrom introduced and explained the bill and answered questions from the committee.

MOTION: Sen. Bramble moved to amend the bill as follows:


1.    Page 3, Lines 75 through 79
    House Floor Amendments
    2-21-2012 :
    

             75          (1) A person is guilty of gambling if [he] the person:
             76          (a) participates in gambling, including any Internet
  or online       gambling;

             77          (b) knowingly permits any gambling to be played, conducted, or dealt upon or in any
             78      real or personal property owned, rented, or under the control of the actor, whether in whole or
             79      in part; or

The motion passed unanimously.

S.B. 260    Automobile Salvage Amendments (Sen. S. Urquhart)

Sen. Urquhart introduced and explained the bill assisted by Rob Jolley, Utah Auto Recycling Association. Both answered questions from the commitee.

MOTION: Sen. Weiler moved to adopt 1st Sub. H.B. 191. The motion passed unanimously.

Rep. Froerer introduced and explained the bill assisted by Jared Preisler, Trustee, Organization of American Appraisers

MOTION: Sen. Van Tassell moved to transmit 1st Sub. H.B.191 with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed unanimously.

H.B. 131    Liens for Preconstruction Service and Construction Work (Rep. M. Morley)

Rep. Morley introduced and explained the bill.

MOTION: Sen. Mayne moved to transmit H.B. 131 with a favorable recommendation. The         motion passed unanimously.

MOTION:    Sen. Van Tassell moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously. Chair Valentine adjourned the meeting at 9:20 a.m.
