Chair Osmond called the meeting to order at 2:14 pm.

Approval of Minutes

MOTION:    Sen. Thatcher moved to approve the minutes of the February 9, 2012 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Morgan, Sen. Niederhauser, Sen. Stephenson, and Sen. Stevenson absent for the vote.

H.B. 218 Local School Board Business Administrator (D. McCay)

Rep. McCay introduced and explained the bill.

MOTION:     Sen. Thatcher moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Morgan, Sen. Niederhauser, and Sen. Stevenson absent for the vote.

MOTION:     Sen. Hillyard moved to place H.B. 218 on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed unanimously.

Sen. Stephenson assumed the chair.

S.B. 64 Public Education Employment Reform (A. Osmond)

Sen. Osmond introduced and explained the bill.

S.B. 191 Accountability for School Attendance (J. Stevenson)


Sen. Stevenson introduced and explained the bill.

MOTION:     Sen. Thatcher moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Hillyard absent for the vote.

H.B. 285 Repeal of Higher Education Tuition Assistance Program (S. Eliason)

Rep. Eliason introduced and explained the bill.

MOTION:     Sen. Thatcher moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Hillyard and Sen. Stevenson absent for the vote.

MOTION:     Sen. Thatcher moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Hillyard and Sen. Stevenson absent for the vote.

Chair Osmond adjourned the meeting at 4:37 pm.
