Chair Osmond called the meeting to order at 4:27 pm.

Approval of Minutes

MOTION:    Sen. Thatcher moved to approve the minutes of the February 24, 2012 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Morgan and Sen. Stephenson absent for the vote.

Sen. Thatcher assumed the chair.

S.J.R. 26 Joint Resolution on Engagement in Public Education System (A. Osmond)

Sen. Osmond introduced and explained the resolution.

Spoke to the resolution:     Mr. Kory Holdaway, Government Relations Director, Utah                     Education Association
                Ms. JoDee Sundberg, President, Utah School Boards Association

MOTION:
    Sen. Stephenson moved to pass the resolution out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.

H.B. 213 School Community Council Member Qualifications (L. Perry)

Rep. Perry introduced and explained the bill.

MOTION:     Sen. Stephenson moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Stevenson absent for the vote.
    
MOTION:     Sen. Thatcher moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Stevenson absent for the vote.
