Chair Christensen called the meeting to order at 4:17 PM

S.B. 40    Medical and Osteopathic Practice Act Amendments (Sen. P. Knudson)

Chair Christensen announced that S.B. 40 would not be heard today.

MOTION:    Sen. Robles moved to approve the minutes of January 25, 2012. The motion passed unanimously.

S.C.R. 4    Concurrent Resolution on Breast Cancer Screening (Sen. K. Mayne)
    

MOTION:    Sen. Jones moved to amend S.C.R. 4 as follows:

1.    Page 1, Lines 10 through 14 :    

             10          This concurrent resolution of the Legislature and the Governor urges women ages 40
             11      years old and older to receive breast cancer screening once each year that, at a
             12      minimum, consists of a mammogram
{   and urges that all insurance programs in the state

             13      of Utah provide breast cancer screening to include mammograms and other physician
             14      recommended screening tests, with minimum or no co-payments or out-of-pocket costs  
}
.



2.    Page 1, Lines 19 through 25 :    

             19          .    urges women aged 40 and older to be annually screened for breast cancer including,
             20      at a minimum, a mammogram;
  and      

             21          .    recognizes the importance of public programs that provide breast cancer screening
             22      to uninsured women who cannot afford to be screened
{   ; and

             23          .    urges all insurance programs in the state of Utah to provide for breast cancer
             24      screening to include mammograms and other physician recommended screening

S.B. 127    Controlled Substances Prescriber Training (Sen. P. Jones)

MOTION:    Sen. Jones moved to replace S.B. 127 with 1st Sub. S.B. 127. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Madsen absent for the vote.

Sen. Jones introduced and explained the bill.

MOTION:    Sen. Jones moved to pass 1st Sub. S.B. 127 out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Madsen absent for the vote.

MOTION:    Sen. Jones moved to place 1st Sub. S.B. 127 on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed with Sen. Madsen absent for the vote.

S.B. 131    Reauthorization of Utah Commission on Aging (Sen. P. Jones)
