Committee Chair Bramble called the meeting to order at 4:15 p.m.

Approval of Minutes

S.B. 106    Tobacco Settlement Account Amendments (Sen. L. Hillyard)


Sen. Hillyard introduced and explained the bill.     
MOTION:
    Sen. Valentine moved to amend the bill as follows:

1.    Page 3, Lines 66 through 73 :    

             66          
{   (5) (a) If tobacco funds in dispute for attorney fees are received by the state, those

             67      funds shall be divided and deposited in accordance with Subsection (3) and Section 51-9-202 .
             68          (b) The amount appropriated from the Tobacco Settlement Restricted Account to the
             69      Department of Health for alcohol, tobacco, and other drug programs described in Subsection
             70      (4)(b), including the funding preference for tobacco-related programs, shall be increased by up
             71      to $2,000,000 in a given fiscal year to the extent that funds in dispute for attorney fees are
             72      available to the state for appropriation from the account.

MOTION:
    Sen. Valentine moved to pass the bill as out favorably as amended. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Adams and Sen. Romero absent for the vote.

Chair Bramble relinquished the chair to Sen. Valentine.

S.B. 108    Financial Institution Amendments (Sen. C. Bramble)

Sen. Bramble introduced and explained the bill.

MOTION:
    Sen. Bramble moved to pass the bill out favorably. Sen. Valentine declared a conflict of interest. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Adams and Sen. Romero absent for the vote.

MOTION:
    Sen. Bramble made a motion to place SB108 on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Adams and Sen. Romero absent for the vote.

S.J.R. 8    Joint Resolution on Property Tax Exemption for Military Personnel (Sen. L. Robles)

S.B. 116    Armed Forces Property Tax Exemption (Sen. L. Robles)

Sen. Robles introduced and explained both the resolution and the bill. After discussion, Sen. Robles requested to have the resolution and bill heard again at a future meeting.

MOTION:
    Sen. McAdams moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously.
    

Chair Bramble adjourned the meeting at 4:45.
