Committee Chair Bramble called the meeting to order at 4:15 p.m.

Approval of Minutes

MOTION:    Sen. McAdams moved to approve minutes of the February 27, 2012 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Valentine absent for the vote.

S.B. 70    Sales and Use Taxation of Short-term Lodging (Sen. C. Bramble)
was not heard.

S.B. 276    Cigarette Amendments (Sen. W. Niederhauser) was not heard.

S.R. 3    Air Quality Senate Resolution (Sen. B. McAdams)

Sen. McAdams introduced and explained the bill.

Spoke to the bill:    Chase Pope, Rowland Hall student working with Breathe Utah
        Erin Mendenhall, Outreach Coordinator, Breathe Utah

MOTION:    Sen. Stephenson moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously, with Sen. Valentine absent for the vote.

S.B. 281    Mortgage and Financial Fraud Investigations (Sen. B. McAdams)

Sen. McAdams introduced and explained the bill.

Spoke to the bill:    Curt Torgerson, Chief Deputy, Utah Attorney General's Office    




MOTION:    Sen. Adams moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously, with Sen. Niederhauser, Sen. Stephenson, and Sen. Valentine absent for the vote.

S.B. 272    Property Tax Rate Amendments (Sen. B. McAdams)

Sen. McAdams introduced and explained the bill.

MOTION:    Sen. McAdams moved to replace S.B. 272 with 1st Sub. S. B. 272. The motion passed unanimously, with Sen. Niederhauser, Sen. Stephenson, and Sen. Valentine absent for the vote.

Spoke to the bill:    Roger Tew, League of Cities and Towns        

MOTION:    Sen. Adams moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously, with Sen. Niederhauser and Sen. Valentine absent for the vote.

MOTION:     Sen. Valentine moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously, with Sen. Niederhauser absent for the vote.

Chair Bramble adjourned the meeting at 4:57 p.m.
