Committee Chair Dayton called the meeting to order at 11:54 a.m.

1.     Approval of Minutes

    MOTION: Sen. Knudson moved to approve the minutes of January 26, 2012.

    The motion passed unanimously.


2. S.J.R. 7 Joint Rules Resolution on Priority Status For Bills

Senator Dayton introduced the bill. John Fellows, General Counsel, Office of Legislative Research and General Counsel explained the bill.

    MOTION: Sen. Knudson moved to pass the bill out favorably.

    The motion passed unanimously.


3.     Assignment of Bills to Standing Committees


Chair Dayton presented the following list of bills for assignment to standing committees:
Business and Labor Committee
S.B. 42    Limitation on Action to Recover Deficiency Following Short Sale (Sen. W. Niederhauser)

Judiciary, Law Enforcement, and Criminal Justice Committee

    MOTION: Sen. Jones moved to assign S.B. 139, Child Custody Proceedings
     (Sen. L. Robles) to the Judiciary, Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Committee.

    The motion passed unanimously.

    MOTION: Sen. Knudson moved to approve the amended list of bills for assignment to standing committees.

    The motion passed unanimously.


    MOTION: Sen. Knudson moved to adjourn.

    The motion passed unanimously.
