A list of visitors and a copy of handouts are filed with the committee minutes.

Chair Van Tassell called the meeting to order at 2:20 p.m. and introductions were made by members of the committee.

S.B. 35    New Motor Vehicle Warranties Act Amendments (Sen. K. Mayne)

Sen Mayne introduced and explained the bill.

Spoke for the bill:    Gary Thorrup, Recreation Vehicle Industry Association; Wayne Jones,         Executive Director, R.V. Dealers Association

MOTION:    Sen. Knudson moved to transmit S.B. 35 with a favorable         recommendation.

The motion passed unanimously.

S.B. 128    Wireless Telephone Use Restriction for Minors in Vehicles (Sen. R. Romero)

Sen. Romero introduced and explained the bill, distributed a handout and answered questions from the committee.

Spoke for the bill:    Rolayne Fairclough, AAA distributed a handout and spoke in support of         the bill.             
MOTION: Sen. Mayne moved to transmit S.B.128 with a favorable recommendation. The      motion passed with Sens. Adams and Jenkins voting in opposition.

H.B. 21    Driver License Emergency Contact Database (Rep. M. Poulson)


Rep. Poulson introduced and explained the bill. Nannette Rolfe, Utah Driver License Division, further explained the bill.

Spoke for the bill:    Gil Rodrigus, Fire Chief, Murray City and Steve Winward, Lieutenant,         Utah Highway Patrol.

MOTION: Sen. Knudson moved to transmit H.B. 21 with a favorable recommendation.

The morion passed unanimously.


MOTION: Sen. Jenkins moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously.

Chair Van Tassell adjourned the meeting at 3:04 p.m.
