Chair Van Tassell called the meeting to order at 4:33 p.m.

Approval of Minutes

MOTION:     
Sen. Knudson moved to approve minutes of the February 24, 2012, meeting.     The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Mayne absent for the vote.

S.B. 290    Utah Futures Program (Sen. H. Stephenson)

Sen. Stephenson introduced and explained the bill assisted by Senator Aaron Osmond. Both answered questions from the committee.

MOTION: Sen. Adams moved to transmit S.B. 290 with a favorable recommendation. The         motion passed unanimously.

S.B. 195    Transportation Safety Revisions (Sen. K. Mayne)

MOTION: Sen. Adams moved to adopt 1st Sub. S.B. 195. The motion passed unanimously.

Sen. Mayne introduced and explained the bill assisted by Bruce Jones, General Counsel, Utah Transit Authority and Mike Allegra, General Manager, Utah Transit Authority.

MOTION: Sen. Adams moved to transmit 1st Sub. S.B. 195 with a favorable recommendation.         The motion passed unanimously.

Sen. Adams assumed the committee chair.

Sen. Van Tassell introduced and explained the bill.

S.C.R. 12    Concurrent Resolution Urging Congress to Clearly Delegate Responsibility for Regulating Hydraulic Fracturing to the States (Sen. K. Van Tassell)

Sen. Van Tassell introduced and explained the bill.

Sen. Adams introduced and explained the bill.

MOTION: Sen. Knudson moved to transmit S.B. 289 with a favorable recommendation. The         motion passed unanimously.

S.B. 170    Driver License Qualification Amendments (Sen. S. Urquhart)

Sen. Urquhart introduced and explained the bill.

MOTION: Sen. Adams moved to transmit S.B. 170 with a favorable recommendation. The         motion passed with Sen. Van Tassell voting in opposition.

MOTION:    Sen. Knudson moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously. Chair Van Tassell adjourned the meeting at 5:27 p.m.
