             7      LONG TITLE
             8      General Description:
             9          This bill modifies Title 23, Wildlife Resources Code of Utah, Chapter 19, Licenses,
             10      Permits, and Tags.
             11      Highlighted Provisions:
             12          This bill:
             13          .    requires the Wildlife Board to prescribe the term and expiration date for a license,
             14      permit, or certificate of registration issued under Title 23, Wildlife Resources Code
             15      of Utah;
             16          .    amends the terms of fishing licenses; and
             17          .    makes technical changes.

             27      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:


             28          Section 1. Section 23-19-7 is amended to read:
             29           23-19-7. Expiration date of licenses, permits, and certificates of registration.
             30          [The licenses] (1) The Wildlife Board shall prescribe the term and expiration date for
             31      licenses, permits, and certificates of registration issued under this [chapter] title, except lifetime
             32      licenses[, will expire 365 days from the date of issue].
             33          (2) The effective date and expiration date, if any, of a license, permit, or certificate of
             34      registration shall be indicated on the license, permit, or certificate of registration.
             35          Section 2. Section 23-19-21 is amended to read:
             36           23-19-21. Fishing license.
             37          (1) A person 12 years of age or older shall purchase a fishing license before engaging
             38      in any regulated fishing activity.
             39          (2) [A person 12 years of age or older, upon] After paying the fee prescribed by the
             40      Wildlife Board, a person may obtain a license to fish[:] and, after the license is granted, engage
             41      in fishing according to the rules, proclamations, and orders of the Wildlife Board.
             42          [(a) for one day;]
             43          [(b) for seven consecutive days; or]
             44          [(c) for 365 consecutive days from the date of sale.]
             45          (3) A person under 12 years of age may fish without a license according to rules,
             46      proclamations, and orders [set forth by] of the Wildlife Board.
             47          [(4) The effective date shall be indicated on the license.]
