8 General Description:
9 This bill amends the section regarding organ donor leave for state employees.
10 Highlighted Provisions:
11 This bill:
12 ▸ requires the Department of Human Resource Management to publicize the organ
13 donor leave provision to employees during the month of April.
14 Money Appropriated in this Bill:

22 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
23 Section 1. Section 67-19-14.5 is amended to read:
24 67-19-14.5. Organ donor leave.
25 (1) An employee who serves as a bone marrow donor shall be granted a paid leave of
26 absence of up to seven days that are necessary for the donation and recovery from the donation.
27 (2) An employee who serves as a donor of a human organ shall be granted a paid leave
28 of absence of up to 30 days that are necessary for the donation and recovery from the donation.
29 (3) In recognition of National Donate Life Month, 2015, created by Proclamation No.
30 9248, 80 F.R. 18511 (April 1, 2015), the department shall distribute an electronic message to
31 each employee during the month of April publicizing the leave offered under this section.
