8     General Description:
9          This rules resolution modifies Senate legislative rules related to standing committees.
10     Highlighted Provisions:
11          This resolution:
12          ▸     repeals the Senate Retirement and Independent Entities Standing Committee.
13     Special Clauses:
14          This resolution provides a special effective date.
15     Legislative Rules Affected:

19     Be it resolved by the Senate of the state of Utah:
20          Section 1. SR3-2-201 is amended to read:
21          SR3-2-201. Standing committees -- Creation.
22          [(1)] There are created the following standing committees:
23          [(a)] (1) Business and Labor;
24          [(b)] (2) Economic Development and Workforce Services;
25          [(c)] (3) Education;
26          [(d)] (4) Government Operations and Political Subdivisions;
27          [(e)] (5) Health and Human Services;
28          [(f)] (6) Judiciary, Law Enforcement, and Criminal Justice;
29          [(g)] (7) Natural Resources, Agriculture, and Environment;

30          [(h)] (8) Revenue and Taxation;
31          [(i)] (9) Rules; and
32          [(j)] (10) Transportation, Public Utilities, Energy, and Technology.
33          [(2) The Senate members of the Retirement and Independent Entities Committee
34     created in Utah Code Section 63E-1-201 comprise a Senate standing committee.]
35          Section 2. Effective date.
36          This rules resolution takes effect May 5, 2021.
