Line Item: Building Inspector Training

Function

Funds collected from building permit surcharges are used to educate the construction industry on changes in building code and provide continuing education for licensure.

Statutory Authority

UCA-15a-1-209-5-a Establishes a 1% surcharge on a building permit to be deposited as partial dedicated credits.
UCA-58-56-9 Establishes the divisions authority and duties for Building Inspector regulation.

Intent Language

Under Section 63J-1-603 of the Utah Code, the Legislature intends that appropriations provided for the Building Codes Education Funds received by the Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing under the authority of Section 58-56-9 of the Utah Code and Item 28 of Chapter 1 Laws of Utah 2011 not lapse at the close of Fiscal Year 2012.

Funding Detail
