The sentencing guidelines are a flexible matrix which can be adjusted for severity of sentencing desired or availability of resources. The current version, which would presumably be implemented by this bill, will cost approximately $11.2 million. The basic funding for this matrix is included in the Governor's and Fiscal Analyst's budget recommendations.
