This bill would restore to the Juvenile Court Judges the power to sentence minors convicted of criminal offenses to detention or alternatives to detention for up to 30 days. Assuming that this bill will cause approximately 200 additional commitments to detention or alternatives for an average length of stay of 12 days, it will cost the Division of Youth Corrections approximately $96,000 in General Funds.
