It is estimated that enactment of this bill will generate $63,250,000 in increased revenue to the Transportation Fund in FY 1998 and $65,147,500 in FY 1999 due to the increase in gas tax and the repeal of the surcharge on petroleum. Of that revenue, $47,437,500 will be available for appropriations to the Department of Transportation and $15,812,500 will be available for distribution to the B & C Road Fund in FY 1998. There will be a decrease in the General Fund of $34,300,000 in FY 1998 and a decrease of $36,358,000 in FY 1999.
