This bill does not create any cost to the State. However, someone who commits a Class B misdemeanor will probably be heard in a local Justice Court. The cost of the court and the fine revenue would be a local issue. Any local costs would be associated with the prosecution of persons for Class B misdemeanors. It is estimated that approximately six people could be prosecuted for violation of this bill. It would cost each local court about $100 per case, totaling $600 annually, but it is assumed that these costs could be handled within existing budgets.
