This bill appropriates $10,000,000 from the General Fund to the Department of Corrections for salary disparity remediation. If all of the corrections positions benchmarked to the Correctional Officer position were impacted, there would be an average increase of approximately 6.5 steps which equates to an 18 percent salary increase. Inasmuch as this bill increases ongoing salaries, the Analyst assumes that the funding is ongoing.
