Passage of this bill would require a nonlapsing appropriation to the Lieutenant Governor's Election Office of $600,000 from the General Fund in FY 2000 to fund the costs of the election. There would also be $500 in fees generated for each candidate who files. The majority of the funding will be passed through to local governments.
