Fee increases in this bill will generate approximately $400,000 of additional revenue to the Transportation Restricted Account - DPS Restricted Account. By shifting the skills test from the high school drivers course instructors to the State Driver License Field Stations, the State will realize an additional 40,000 tests annually, requiring 10 additional testing officers and $321,900 from the above named account. Direct costs to the local school districts is considered to be minimal and can be absorbed in existing budgets.
