It is estimated that the additional expenses to State or local government units required by this bill can be handled within existing budgets. Political subdivisions are not required to participate. The amount of the cost increases will depend on 1) the price of the annual health insurance premium; 2) the number of surviving dependents; and 3) the dependent(s)' age(s) at the time of death of the employed peace officer.
