Provisions of this legislation will result in estimated cost increases of $612,500 to the Attorney General's Office and $575,800 to the court system for FY 2001, due to reducing the time limit of adjudicating a child protection petition from 60 to 30 days. The impact on the FY 2002 budget is reduced by $38,000 in one time, upfront funding requirements. Any impact to the Division of Child and Family Services can be handled within its existing budget.
