The bill will require judges to review and document decisions not involving the specified penalties. It also will tend to encourage judges to use interlock devices and home confinement more, both of which require additional time and work to prepare orders. Total additional cost to the courts are estimated at $25,900. Costs for the interlock devices and home confinement should be paid by the offender.
