Cost for additional orders, monitoring and tracking in the courts, are estimated at $147,800 per year. Cost for the installation and maintenance of the required devices would be borne by the offender. The differenntial between the $100 impound fee and the $84 diversion to the Public Safety Restricted Account (Transportation Restricted) would generate approximately $152,000 for the General Fund. Costs to the Department of Public Safety for driver license processing and coding on the license will be covered by the current conversion of the driver license to a digital form. The additional impound fees will add as much as $950,000 to the Transportation Restricted-Driver License Fund. These funds are statutorily earmarked for intoxilyzer equipment for law enforcement.
