This bill eliminates the Wildlife Habitat Authorization ($6.00) that must be purchased annually as a pre-condition to purchasing other licenses. To compensate for the lost revenue, most license fees will be increased, with the majority of the increase going to the Wildlife habitat account. The remainder of the increase will go to retail agents and/or county search and rescue operations. Assuming license sales stay close to the same level as previous years, the impact of eliminating the habitat authorization will be revenue neutral. This bill also increases elk hunting permits by $5 for general season and $50 for limited hunting programs. There will also be an increase of $1 for age 65+ fishing licenses. These increases will bring an additional $215,000 to the Wildlife restricted fund. This bill also increases reimbursement to retail license agents and county search and rescue operations.
