    RESOLUTION CLOSING COURT FACILITY

                     
    2002 GENERAL SESSION

                     
    STATE OF UTAH

                     
    Sponsor: Chad E. Bennion

                      A joint resolution of the Legislature approving the closure of the District Court within the
                      municipal boundaries of Murray City, Utah, and providing an effective date.
                      Be it resolved by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
                          WHEREAS, a district court was located within the municipal boundaries of Murray City,
                      Utah on and before January 1, 1994;
                          WHEREAS, Section 78-3-13.4 requires the Legislature to approve by joint resolution
                      removal of a district court from a municipality in which the district court or the circuit court
                      existed on January 1, 1994; and
                          WHEREAS, the Utah Judicial Council and Murray City propose to close the Murray City
                      location of the district court:
                          NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of the state of Utah
                      approves the closure of the district court within the municipal boundaries of Murray City, Utah.
                          BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be sent to the Utah Judicial
                      Council and Murray City.
                          BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution takes effect upon approval by a
                      constitutional majority vote of all members of the Senate and House of Representatives.
