             7      LONG TITLE
             8      General Description:
             9          This bill provides a mechanism for the lieutenant governor, attorney general, state
             10      auditor, and state treasurer to accrue postretirement health insurance coverage.
             11      Highlighted Provisions:
             12          This bill:
             13          .    provides a mechanism for the lieutenant governor, attorney general, state auditor,
             14      and state treasurer to accrue postretirement health insurance coverage.
             15      Monies Appropriated in this Bill:
             16          None

             19      Utah Code Sections Affected:
             20      AMENDS:
             21          67-22-1, as last amended by Chapter 306, Laws of Utah 2004

             23      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             24          Section 1. Section 67-22-1 is amended to read:
             25           67-22-1. Compensation -- Constitutional offices.
             26          (1) The Legislature fixes salaries for the constitutional offices as follows:
             27          (a) Governor                         $101,600



             28          (b) Lieutenant Governor                 $79,000
             29          (c) Attorney General                     $85,400
             30          (d) State Auditor                     $81,500
             31          (e) State Treasurer                     $79,000
             32          (2) The Legislature fixes benefits for the constitutional offices as follows:
             33          (a) Governor:
             34          (i) a vehicle for official and personal use;
             35          (ii) housing;
             36          (iii) household and security staff;
             37          (iv) household expenses;
             38          (v) retirement benefits as provided in Title 49;
             39          (vi) health insurance;
             40          (vii) dental insurance;
             41          (viii) basic life insurance;
             42          (ix) workers' compensation;
             43          (x) required employer contribution to Social Security;
             44          (xi) long-term disability income insurance; and
             45          (xii) the same additional state paid life insurance available to other noncareer service
             46      employees.
             47          (b) Lieutenant governor, attorney general, state auditor, and state treasurer:
             48          (i) a vehicle for official and personal use;
             49          (ii) the option of participating in a state retirement system established by Title 49,
             50      Chapter 12, Public Employees' Contributory Retirement Act, or Chapter 13, Public Employees'
             51      Noncontributory Retirement Act, or in a deferred compensation plan administered by the State
             52      Retirement Office, in accordance with the Internal Revenue Code and its accompanying rules
             53      and regulations;
             54          (iii) health insurance;
             55          (iv) dental insurance;
             56          (v) basic life insurance;
             57          (vi) workers' compensation;
             58          (vii) required employer contribution to Social Security;



             59          (viii) long-term disability income insurance; [and]
             60          (ix) the same additional state paid life insurance available to other noncareer service
             61      employees[.]; and
             62           (x) for those lieutenant governors, attorneys general, state auditors, and state treasurers
             63      that retire after July 1, 2005, the benefit created under Section 49-20-404 .
             64          (c) Each constitutional office shall pay the cost of the additional state-paid life
             65      insurance for its constitutional officer from its existing budget.
