             9      LONG TITLE
             10      General Description:
             11          This joint resolution of the Legislature fixes the compensation for legislative in-session
             12      employees for 2009.
             13      Highlighted Provisions:
             14          This resolution:
             15          .    fixes the compensation for legislative in-session employees for 2009.
             16      Special Clauses:
             17          This resolution provides retrospective operation to January 5, 2009.
             18     
             19      Be it resolved by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             20          WHEREAS, the Legislature acting under the authority of Section 36-2-2, Utah Code
             21      Annotated 1953, is required to fix the compensation of its in-session employees by joint
             22      resolution:
             23          NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Legislature of the state of Utah that
             24      the compensation of legislative in-session employees for actual hours worked be fixed as
             25      follows:
             26          Employees shall be paid the hourly rate as specified in this resolution.
             27          Employees who are working for the Legislature for the first time shall be paid under
             28      the "Level 1" scale.
             29          Employees who are working their second annual general session shall be paid under


             30      the "Level 2" scale.
             31          Employees who are working their third annual general session shall be paid under the
             32      "Level 3" scale.
             33          Employees who are working their fourth annual general session shall be paid under the
             34      "Level 4" scale.
             35          Employees who have worked five to nine annual general sessions shall be paid under
             36      the "Level 5" scale.
             37          Employees who have worked 10 to 14 annual general sessions shall be paid under the
             38      "Level 6" scale.
             39          Employees who have worked 15 to 19 annual general sessions shall be paid under the
             40      "Level 7" scale.
             41          Employees who have worked 20 or more annual general sessions shall be paid under
             42      the "Level 8" scale.
             43          Senate employees are designated with an "S." House of Representative employees are
             44      designated with an "H."
