             7      LONG TITLE
             8      General Description:
             9          This bill modifies provisions relating to constables.
             10      Highlighted Provisions:
             11          This bill:
             12          .    allows a county or municipality to contract with any constable, rather than a
             13      constable in the county where the justice court sits; and
             14          .    makes a technical change.
             15      Monies Appropriated in this Bill:
             16          None
             17      Other Special Clauses:
             18          None
             19      Utah Code Sections Affected:
             20      AMENDS:
             21          17-25-5, as renumbered and amended by Laws of Utah 2001, Chapter 46

             23      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             24          Section 1. Section 17-25-5 is amended to read:
             25           17-25-5. Contracts for constable services.
             26          The governing body of any municipality or county where a justice court exists may
             27      contract with any [one or more of the constables appointed in the county where the court sits]
             28      constable to provide services in criminal cases for the contracting governmental entity by any
             29      method and for any amount mutually agreed upon.
