Brad Cairns, CEO, Huntsman Cancer Institute, and Erin Rothwell, Vice President for Research, University of Utah, presented on privacy practices related to driver licenses and other personal data and responded to questions submitted by Rep. Chevrier.

Sen. Riebe advised that the Utah Population Database's answers were posted to the committee webpage and suggested the committee ask specific questions based on the responses.
Chair Christofferson asked the Utah Population Database to explain what they are doing to protect data privacy.
Rep. Chevrier read her observations on the Utah Population Database's responses to her questions.
Sen. Harper asked Rep. Chevrier to explain to the committee what she would like to work on relating to Utah Population Database.
Brad Cairns spoke to how the Utah Population Database obtains their data.

Katie Hass elaborated on the different types of data vehicles can collect.

Leif Elder, Director of Policy and Legislative Affairs, Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), spoke to the draft legislation.
Ron Mortensen, resident. spoke in favor of the draft legislation.
Frank Pignanelli, lobbyist, Alliance for Automobile Innovation, spoke to the draft legislation.
Jason Bickmore, Executive Director Assistant, New Car Dealers of Utah, spoke to the draft legislation.
Michael Sonntag, lobbyist, American Property Casualty Insurance Association, spoke to concerns regarding the draft legislation.
Sen. Harper asked Michael Sonntag a clarifying question regarding his concerns.
Committee members continued to discuss vehicle data privacy and insurance with Michael Sonntag.
Chris Bramwell, Chief Privacy Officer, Office of Data Privacy, spoke to the draft legislation as it relates to predictive analytics.
